Call for submissions: Fresh Meaet

Do you have a new food-based business, nonprofit, or other great food-related idea that you’re trying to get off the ground?

Please join Edmonton’s NextGen Initiative and the Edmonton Food Council at Fresh MEAET: a micro-funding forum exploring the possibilities for food and urban agriculture in our city. Attendees will take in presentation from local entrepreneurs and vote for their favorites. The presenter with the most votes goes home with an endowment to help realize their goals!

We are looking for submissions from people who have food-related ideas that they want to present at the event. Specifically, it has to be an idea that furthers at least one of the five goals of fresh, Edmonton’s Food and Agriculture Strategy:

  1. A stronger, more vibrant local food economy
  2. A healthier, more food secure community
  3. Healthier ecosystems
  4. Less energy, emissions and waste
  5. More vibrant, attractive and unique places

If that sounds like something you’re working on, please submit your application using this form. The Edmonton Food Council will review all submissions and choose the group of presenters from those who apply. The submission deadline is June 30, 2017.
